The Gary E. Miller Canadian County Children's Justice Center is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

 

DSP Drug Screening Technician (part-time) administers

drug and alcohol screenings. Monday through Friday 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. and

Saturday 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. Requires an exceptional regard for

confidentiality and solid written communication skills.  Prior experience in a

medical office or lab a plus. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent,

pass drug & criminal background screenings and be at least 21 years of age.


Supervised Visitation Monitor (part time)-  facilitates child

visitations in a positive and respectful manner and accurately records

visits in log.  Requires prior experience working with children &

families or social services. Experience in conflict resolution a plus.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, pass drug and

criminal background screenings and be at least 21 years of age.

Hours are mainly on weekday evenings and weekends.

 

Youth Guidance Specialist - Supervises residents and is

responsible for seeing that their needs are met.  Individuals should be

sufficient interpersonal skills to work closely with both peers and

residents.  Must be able to work a variable and flexible schedule.

 Requires HS diploma or equivalent.  Must pass background check

& drug screenings and be at least 21 years of age.

 

Maintenance Technician -   Responsible for maintaining the facility, conducts periodic checks of all mechanical equipment and systems to ensure that they are operating and properly maintained, will develop technical skills in areas that are prevalent needs in the facility, will oversee the maintenance of security systems, heating/air systems, plumbing, vehicles, yard, electrical and hand tools. 

 

Must be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent; must pass background clearance.

 

Skills and knowledge required: Should have a general knowledge of heating/air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems.  While not required, knowledge of auto mechanical systems, wood-working, telephone systems, locking mechanisms, intercome systems, camera systems and other security systems is desirable.  Prior experience required:  Must have maintenance experience.

 

Juvenile Probation Officer - Provides juvenile intake/probation services to youth and families in Canadian County.  

Qualified application shall possess a bachelor's degree and should possess knowledge of adolescent development and be able to relate well to youth and their families.

Must pass a background check and drug screening.

 

Assistant Shift Supervisor for Residential 
Group Home -
1 year supervisory experience in a behavioral health or social services field.  High School Diploma or equivalent.  Must pass background check & drug screen and be at least 21 years of age.  

 

Substance Abuse Specialist- requires a master's degree in behavioral health.

 

Mental Health Specialist - requires a master's degree in behavioral health. Responsible for mental health screenings, assessments and educational groups. Must be at least 21 years of age and pass drug and criminal background screenings.


All job candidates must pass an OSBI background check and a drug screening. A good driving record is required for many positions. Most jobs also require that the employee be at least 21 years old.
